Again, Command Ships is a T2 skill. The Orca is a T1 Ship. No T1 ship requires a T2 skill.
You might as well rename the 'mining barge' skillbook to 'ORE Ships' and be done with it. Then you wouldn't have this 'not a mining ship' stuff, (and neither is the Rorqual, but they both give bonuses to miners!) |

Neither do Freighters/Jump-freighters.
I believe the technical term for it is "sub-capital".
And this is even less of a capital ship than those, given that it doesn't even require advanced spaceship command.
Interestingly this retains the precedent that ships with the capital ships skillbook as a requirement can't use gates ;) |

Originally by: shoot me Not to mention the fact it would take ages swap ships and risking getting a ship stolen by the griefer during the swap.
Swapping a ship using a SMA is virtually instant and has no risk of being stolen as an empty ship is never floating in space.

Last night, first time on Sinularity to investigate the Orca in person, and not rely upon second hand accounts, had no Orca in region and the Industrial Command Ship skillbook at full price.
I'm confused, am I missing something here?
Go to the system FD-MLJ, everything aside from supercaps is seeded there for 100 isk.
Not every station/region appears to get the special 'everything' seeded.
FD-MLJ is test server central where you'll find a hundred other players to test things with.

Originally by: Sarah Drax i know alot of people are gonna flame this, but who really needs a maintenance bay in high sec? can't i just fly my own fleet of 8 or so rigged ships across space seperately? do i really need to store those 2 hulks fitted in my bay when i could just run many trips to the station in 3 hulks and come back with 2 charons to pick it all up?
Well no, you don't need freighters for most things when you could do it in 2 dozen haulers instead. But the extra room is nice, saves time, time = isk. And thus it's a feature people have been asking for. Rather than you know, make a second ship, CCP have crammed everything they want into the one ship. Because you know, it's not like they've ever done that before and then tried to reverse it years later. :p

Originally by: Sarah Drax CCP needs a new game plan, take the orca back and split it down to 3 ships, a mini freighter (faster than charon with the added bonus of modules (not rigs)), a mini rorqual (45,000 M3 of cargobay with ability to reprocess ore using a skill (reduces the waste from 10% - 2% per lvl of: industrial command ships)) and a mining barge that has 6 high slots, (3-4 M-strip-2/Deep core and 2-3 slots for links or other small weapons so drones can be used for mining instead of rats)
a) yes. b) yes. But no refining. Unless you want it to be the less efficient than the POS arrays. There's a reason compression was introduced as compression. c) NO. Just NO. There's enough of an issue depressing ore prices without just making a better miner. All that would happen is that ore prices would reduce and your income would remain the same, but you'd have to buy a more expensive ship to get it. The Hulk is 'the' best mining ship CCP should ever make.
